“Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey- Book Review

“Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey! Dave Ramsey has earned the number one spot in the financial section of my bookshelf.  He teaches very simple, practical solutions to everyday financial situations.   He uses the Bible as a guide for the advice he gives for managing your finances.  Dave Ramsey teaches the principles God gives in His word, not the principles taught by the world or the typical American household.  His books are easy to read.

I have read all of Dave Ramsey’s books.   They have changed the way I look at my personal finances.  In his book “The Total Money Makeover,” he gives you a great overview to set you up for financial success.  He teaches about everything from getting out of debt to investing and giving.  He has includes stories of success, worksheets, and a step-by-step plan that guides you through 7 “Baby Steps” to give you financial security. You can also get a “The Total Money Makeover Workbook” for more worksheets and help with the details.

I highly recommend “The Total Money Makeover” for anyone wanting to improve their financial life.

About Dave Ramsey:

Dave Ramsey has a B.S. Degree from The University of Tennessee in Finance and Real Estate.  He hosts a radio show that is heard on over 300 radio stations across the U.S. and online at DaveRamsey.com that has been on air for over 15 years.  He is a best selling author and a public speaker.   Dave joined the Fox Business Network in September 2007.

I haven’t read any work by Ramsey but I intend to based on your recommendation. I have read debt-free living by Larry Burkett and he also teaches using God’s principles and how scripture is designed to help us effectively manage our finances. I know it helped us tremendously. We were over $12K in the red back in 1994 for credit cards alone. Add a $24K expedition loan and a $13K Harley loan not to mention the mortgage on our home. We stuck to this teaching and worked hard and today have absolutely zero debt. Our cars are paid for, we bought 20 acres of land without a loan and purchased all the materials to build our barn by simply writing a check. God has certainly blessed us for following his simple principles. I appreciate you taking time to share this information with me.

p.s. I really like your website. More than that, I admire your family. It seems you have raised them with good morals and ethical values. Keep up the good work.

I love the kind of days you can light a fire in the fireplace or have a bonfire and put on a big pot of soup to simmer and enjoy all day long. It brings about memories of gatherings we had when I was a child, when we all gathered together to share a bowl of soup.

Mango fruit leather has turned out to be one of my kids' favorites. The sugar is totally optional, but it makes it much sweeter and cuts the tartness. The post Mango Fruit Leather appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.

This Lemon Lime Soda Jelly is delicious. I added a fresh lemon and a fresh l fresh lime to the mix to give it a rich, tangy flavor. It will make you pucker, a little. The post Lemon Lime Soda Jelly appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.

Cream soda...do you like yours red or amber colored? I chose the amber colored version for my cream soda jelly. I like the flavor better. Plus, I added a teaspoon of vanilla, just for added vanilla goodness. The post Cream Soda Jelly appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.
