Our Herb Garden

I love to cook, and having fresh herbs available to me makes cooking so much more fun.  We  transplanted/planted our herb garden early in the Spring.  I can’t believe how well it has done in its new location.

Here is what we planted:

Sweet Basil

Two-Toned Basil

Purple Basil

Chamomile
Chives
Flat Garlic Chives
Dill
Lavender
Lemon Balm
Marjoram
Mint
Oregano
Curled Parsley
Rosemary
Sage
Savory
Tarragon

Thyme
Lemon Thyme

Those are many of the same herbs I usually plant. I hope my perennial herbs are still alive after the Squirrel invasion, the gophers, and the freezing weather. Herbs may be all I grow this year.

Beautiful spring herb garden. We love basil, but can’t get it to grow well here. Lots of other treats in your garden too.

I love the kind of days you can light a fire in the fireplace or have a bonfire and put on a big pot of soup to simmer and enjoy all day long. It brings about memories of gatherings we had when I was a child, when we all gathered together to share a bowl of soup.

  • Mango Fruit Leather
Mango fruit leather has turned out to be one of my kids' favorites. The sugar is totally optional, but it makes it much sweeter and cuts the tartness. The post Mango Fruit Leather appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.

  • Lemon Lime Soda Jelly
This Lemon Lime Soda Jelly is delicious. I added a fresh lemon and a fresh l fresh lime to the mix to give it a rich, tangy flavor. It will make you pucker, a little. The post Lemon Lime Soda Jelly appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.

  • Cream Soda Jelly
Cream soda...do you like yours red or amber colored? I chose the amber colored version for my cream soda jelly. I like the flavor better. Plus, I added a teaspoon of vanilla, just for added vanilla goodness. The post Cream Soda Jelly appeared first on Mama’s Homestead.
